Court hands 15-year jail term to terror convict

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court on Monday handed down a 15-year prison term with hard labour to a man, who was convicted of plotting a terrorist attack in favor of the Daesh terror group.

During a public hearing, headed by Col. Mohammad Afif, the court found the convict had planned to stab a member of the gendarmerie security forces guarding the tourism ministry, as a sign of his affiliation to the terrorist group.

The 24-year-old convict, who has been in custody since March 2017, was found guilty of conspiring to carry out terrorist acts, promoting Daesh terrorist ideology and attempting to join the terror group.
