Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan and Egypt agreed to increase electricity connection and form a working team to prepare studies on a project to establish a second power line connecting the electricity grids of both countries.
The two sides signed a number of memorandums of cooperation on operating and maintaining oil and gas pipelines and networks in the Kingdom, and prepare economic feasibility studies on gas supplies for household, trade and industrial use purposes.
The agreements were signed during a visit by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al Kharabsheh to Egypt during which he met with his Egyptian counterpart Tariq Al Mullah and the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohammad Shaker and discussed with them scopes of energy cooperation and joint projects.
The minister said Jordan was looking forward to increasing cooperation with Egypt and take serious steps to increase electricity connection.
Kharabsheh and his Egyptian counterpart highlighted the importance of resuming Egyptian gas supplies to Jordan in early 2019.
