The celebrations begin when the fasting month of Ramadan ends and the following month of Shawwal begins. Sunday will therefore be the first day of Eid al-Fitr, a member of the Arab Union For Astronomy and Space Sciences, Khaled Al Za’aq, told Al Arabiya.
