Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday received Senate President, Faisal Al Fayez, who conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II's greetings and wishes to Pakistan and its people for progress and prosperity.
Al Fayez is visiting Pakistan on an official invitation from Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Mian Raza Rabbani.
President Hussain said his country is keen to further promote bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
He commended the Pakistani-Jordanian relations and said they are based on respect and common interests, noting that diplomatic and political ties between the two countries are witnessing further development and progress.
He said he understood the challenges facing Jordan due to the current situation in the Middle East, expressing appreciation of the Kingdom's great humanitarian role towards the Syrian refugees and King Abdullah's role in ending crises and conflicts in the region.
Al Fayez praised ties between the two countries and briefed President Hussain on local and regional conditions, including economic challenges facing Jordan due to hosting a large number of Syrian refugees, as well as the Palestinian issue, the Syrian crises and efforts to fight terrorism.
