"Eager Lion" drill starts in first week of May

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) will carry out the Eager Lion 2017 joint drill with the US side and the participation of 23 countries May 7-18.

The drill aims to boost cooperation between the armed forces of the participating nations, enhance their defence capabilities, train on strategic planning in a joint operations environment, raise the combat readiness of the participating armies and develop their national crisis management capacity to counter unconventional threats.

The various activities of the drill will take place in the JAF training fields using various weapons by land, air and marine forces, besides wide participation of security forces, ministries, governmental and non-governmental organisations and the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management.

Eager Lion is a multinational military exercise held annually in Jordan. It kicks off this year in its seventh version that involves operational field activities and tactics in fighting terrorism and applies modern warfare methods.
