Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang stressed the deep-rooted relations between Jordan and China as well as China and the Arab world.
In a press conference marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Jordan and China, the ambassador pointed to the progressing political ties between the two countries. He said that His Majesty King Abdullah II had visited China 8 times since his accession to the throne, noting that Chinese leaders also visited the Kingdom several times.
The ambassador also highlighted the strong economic and trade ties between the two countries, noting that China is the second major trade partner of Jordan, and that trade exchange between the two countries stood at $3 billion in 2016.
He also pointed to cooperation between the two countries to implement a number of projects in the fields of renewable energy, railways, water and oil ad gas pipelines.
Ambassador Weifang also spoke about the economic support provided by China to Jordan that covers a number of sectors, as well as the humanitarian and financial aid that aims to ease the burden of hosting a large number of Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.
He also noted the increasing military and security cooperation between the two countries that contribute to preserving stability and security in both countries.
The ambassador also praised Jordan's pivotal role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II to achieve security and stability in the Middle East.
