Border guards foil smuggling bid

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Border Guards foiled a bid to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics into the Kingdom during the past 72 hours, according to an army source.

The source said 3 people were trying to illegally cross into Jordan and refused to comply with army orders, prompting forces to open fire towards them after applying rules of engagement.

He said 2 men were killed while the other was injured and fled back to Syrian territory.

Combing the area, army personnel found 49,9 Tramadol pills and 200,000 amphetamine like drug called Captagon, added the source.
