Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulqi Tuesday met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara and discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.
Mulki conveyed to the Turkish leader His Majesty King Abdullah's wishes of good health and the Turkish people further progress and prosperity, stressing the distinguished Jordanian-Turkish relations and the Kingdom's interest in further enhancing cooperation.
The prime minister reviewed Jordan's position toward regional developments and the common challenges the two countries are facing, stressing Jordan's support for finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
Mulki said the Palestinian cause is the core issue in the Middle East, reiterating Jordan's call for the return of the Palestinians and Israelis to the negotiating table with a timeline to bring about the two-state solution, and the creation of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also said the historic Hashemite custodianship had safeguarded the Al Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al Sharif and the holy shrines in Jerusalem, stressing that the Kingdom will continue this legal and diplomatic role.
Mulki said Jordan welcomes more Turkish investment in its mega projects and would special zones for Turkish industries in the Kingdom.
Erdogan commended Jordan's role in defending the Jerusalem holy sites, and stressed the importance of increasing bilateral cooperation in training, military industrialization, maritime transport and trade.
He said Ankara supports the territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria and fighting terrorist organisations.
