Islamic Centrist Party to run in local elections

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Islamic Centrist Party (ICP) will take part in decentralisation and municipal elections due to be held in summer, that will be a key step to enhance and deepen democracy, the political party's secretary general Maddallah Tarawneh announced Saturday.

"The party has decided to run in the elections with the largest possible number of candidates", he said in a meeting at the party's headquarters in Amman, stressing the need for "proper preparation to achieve the party's goals and aspirations".

ICP politburo chief Hayel Daoud spoke of the need to benefit from the party's experiences in previous polls to overcome any faults that might arise. Politburo member, Mustafa Amawi said all Jordanians have a vested interest in participating in the electoral process, stressing that the outcome of the upcoming polls would uplift partisan work.
