Jordan takes part in human rights conference in Qatar

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The International Conference on Human Rights Approach to Conflict Situations in the Arab Region kicked off Monday in Doha, Qatar with Jordan's participation.

Taking part in the conference were representative of the Foreign Ministry Alla' al-Odwan, Government Coordinator for Human Rights, Basel Tarawneh and the Commissioner-General of the National Center for Human Rights, Mousa Braizat.

Braizat said the two-day conference will examine the role of human rights in preventing conflict and how it can act as a tool for early warning. Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani opened the conference which brings together officials from Arab and foreign countries.

Other related issues such as preventing violent extremism and countering terrorism will be also examined during the meeting.
