House panel investigating Karak terror attack vows accuracy, objectivity

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The newly-formed Lower House committee investigating last month's terror attacks in Karak met Sunday and unanimously chose MP Mazen Qadi as its chairman, and two lawmakers as deputy head and rapporteur.

House Speaker Atef Tarawneh stressed the independence of the panel and the confidentiality of its work, urging it to complete its fact-finding mission "as quickly as possible so that the legislature will be acquainted with the results".

"The committee's findings are of paramount importance as it investigates a national case which is of interest to all the citizens", said First Deputy House Speaker Khamis Atiyeh, stressing that all the country's people are awaiting the outcome.

MP Qadi said the panel will be in a permanent session and will hear from all of the parties to compile the final report "with utter accuracy, objectivity and professionalism" as soon as possible.
