Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court (SSC) on Tuesday issued a death sentence against the gunman who killed Jordanian columnist Nahid Hattar.
SSC Attorney General Brig. Gen. Ziad Adwan, said the court found the shooter guilty of committing terrorist acts that led to the death of a human being, incited sectarian strife, premeditated murder and illegal possession of firearm.
Also, the court handed 1-year jail term to two other suspects, who sold the weapon to the shooter, and who facilitated the purchase of the weapon.
Hattar was gunned down outside the Palace of Justice in Amman on September 25 and the shooter was apprehended immediately after the incident. The prosecutor general concluded the investigation with the prime suspect on October 8.
