Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The impact of the cold and wet air mass is expected to continue on Wednesday causing a tangible in mercury levels and creating cold and rainy weather, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Daytime temperatures in Amman and the northern areas for today will reach 8 degrees Celsius, going down to 2 degrees at night, while in the southern regions they will stand at 9 degrees and to zero degree at night.
Maximum temperatures expected in the Gulf of Aqaba will register 19 degrees, sliding to 8 at night, the JMD explained.
Rainfall is likely to be heavy in the evening accompanied by thunder, lightning and hail. In addition, snow showers are also expected on the Sahara mountain ranges and areas located1000 meters above sea level, according to the JMD. Winds will be easterly to northwesterly brisk with speeds reaching 60-80 kilometers per hour.
Cold and partly cloudy conditions are expected to continue over the next two days, with light showers in the southern and eastern parts of the country and frost formation after midnight in most areas, the JMD added.
