King attends burial of Jordanian soldier who fell in battle for Jerusalem

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, attended on Monday, the burial of a Jordanian soldier, who fell in the battle for Jerusalem.

The soldier’s remains were brought to the Kingdom and was given a full military honour during the burial at the Martyr’s memorial in Amman.

The monument was re-opened in a ceremony, part of the Kingdom’s celebration of the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt.

The Supreme Commander was on hand to welcome the soldier’ remains, which were brought home at dawn today, from a Jordan army cemetery in Jerusalem.

The king watched a parade by a special infantry unit of the honour guard.
