Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The country will remain under the impact of the cold air mass and depression on Thursday, lowering temperatures and bringing cloudy skies and drizzles in the northern and central regions.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD), winds will be westerly to southerly moderate to brisk with strong gust at times .
Temperatures in the capital during the day will be 17 degrees Celsius, dropping to a low of 5 degrees at night, where it will be cold and cloudy with heavy rain and thunder starting from the northern and central parts of the country and moving gradually to the southern regions.
Winds will be southwesterly brisk raising dust in the desert region with speed reaching 70 kilometers per hour, it added.
Temperatures expected in northern regions will range between a high of 16 degrees Celsius and a low of 8, while mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will reach 25 degrees dropping to 12 at night, the JMD said.
As for Friday, the JMD explained that the combined weather conditions will deepen bringing tangible in temperatures and heavy rain in the northern and central regions. Winds will be westerly brisk with speed ranging between 70-80 kilometers per hour.
The weather will start to stabilize as of Saturday afternoon, with a slight rise in temperatures forecast, while it will remain cold and partly cloudy with a chance for scattered showers in the early morning hours.
