Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Economic laws would not differentiate between Jordanian and non-Jordanian businessmen and that all investors will have the same privileges and exemptions to encourage them to jobs for the local citizens, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah said.
In a meeting with a group of Syrian businessmen, the minister urged them to benefit from facilities made available by agreements Jordan had signed with many nations to enter world markets, particularly the European and US markets.
President of the Amman Chamber of Industry, Ziyad Homsi, pointed to the facilities provided to non-Jordanians by the new 2014 investment law, which authorised the interior minister to grant five-year residency permits to foreign investors and their families. He said the chamber was coordinating with the interior minister and the Jordan Investment Commission to offer more incentives to businessmen, including free movement at the airport and other facilities for foreign technicians, in addition to driving licenses to senior non-Jordanian staff at industrial firms.
