Jordanian takes first place at international math competition

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian Marwan Jweinat surpassed 2,300 children from 30 countries to win the international mathematics competition which took place in the United Arab Emirates.

He captured first place in the international UCMAS (Universal Concepts of Mental Arithmetic System) Abacus and Mental Math Competition, which was held at Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai.

The Director of Operations of UCMAS UAE told Petra that eight Jordanian students from various levels had won advanced spots in the global contest this year, with Jweinat coming first among all the participants in the arithmetic mental competition.

UCMAS, a child development program based on mental math, aims to boost brainpower in children aged 4-13, using the scientific approach based on sharp mentality, comprehension, attention and self-confidence in their learning abilities.
