Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The government, on Wednesday, decided to endorse the Kingdom's joining of a United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF)'s initiative regarding the transition from cash payment to digital payments.
This initiative would contribute to reducing administrative costs, digitally increasing the administrative and financial integration, deepening financial inclusion and digitizing government payments.
The government said joining this initiative would also facilitate money transfers, business and investment environment, noting that the central bank is the entity that is responsible for developing policies and payment strategy in Jordan, in addition to being the owner of the digital payment system.
The Cabinet also approved a protocol of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs and the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It also approved a cooperation program in the fields of culture and education between the Jordanian government and the Cypriot government for 2016-2019.
