Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court (SSC) Sunday heard testimonies by four prosecution witnesses in the trial of three suspects involved in the murder of Jordanian writer Nahed Hattar before adjourning the hearings until next week.
The SSC Prosecutor General had formally filed charges against the prime suspect, including engaging in a terrorism act that took the life of a human, perpetrating acts to incite sedition in violation of the Anti-Terrorism Law, premeditated murder in violation of the Penal Code and carrying an unlicensed firearm contrary to the Firearms and Ammunitions Law.
The second suspect, who sold the weapon to the prime suspect, and the third defendant, who facilitated the purchase of the weapon, were charged with involvement in a terrorist act in breach of the Anti-Terrorism Law.
Hattar was gunned down outside the Palace of Justice in Amman on Sept. 25 and the shooter was apprehended immediately after the incident. The prosecutor concluded the investigation with the prime suspect on Oct. 8.
