Greece interested to benefit from Jordan investment opportunities

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - President of Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) Thabet Al Wir, called on Greek businessmen and investors to benefit from incentives offered by the Kingdom in many sectors including pharmaceuticals, information technology, transportation, mining, tourism, therapeutic and others.
During a meeting with a delegation of Greek investors, Al Wir expressed Jordan's readiness to provide all facilities and incentives to foster closer economic ties between the two countries.
A statement by the JIC Saturday outlined ways to benefit from the investment-related incentives, opportunities available as well economic and trade agreements Jordan has forged with different states.
The statement explained that economic reform package adopted by the government, as well as business and trade agreements Jordan signed had paid off and created a sound investment climate.
Head of the Greek delegation, Demetrios Matthews, expressed hope to increase the volume of trade between Jordan and his country, highlighting the Kingdom's political stability, legislative reform measures and good reputation as a promising investment and trade hub despite turmoil in the region .
The guest stressed the need to exchange visits of trade and business delegations between the two countries with focus on the most promising sectors. He also underscored the importance of taking advantage of the "Rules of Origin agreement" signed between the EU and Jordan to increase the Kingdom's exports to Greece.
Jordan and Greece are bound by a number of cooperation agreements in economic and cultural fields, civil aviation and ground transportation, investment protection and scientific and technological cooperation.
Jordan’s exports to Greece stood last year at about $4.5 million, while the Kingdom’s imported goods worth around $40.5.
