Prince Rashid participates in ceremony of NATO Defense College 65th anniversary

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, HRH Prince Rashid Bin Al Hassan, on Friday, participated in celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the NATO Defense College (NDC) in Rome, Italy.

NDC is an international military college for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries, and one of the most important international military colleges. Students from Jordan, which enjoys an advanced partnership and has signed a number of agreements with, participate in some of its courses.

In the ceremony, which also marks the 50th anniversary of the NDC's move from Paris to Rome, Prince Rashid attended a session titled "Partners in the Mediterranean and the Middle East", in the presence of leaders and heads of participating delegations from different countries of the world.

In a speech during the session, Prince Rashid, who himself had previously participated in one of the NDC's prominent courses, said Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, is keen on promoting its relations with the NATO, as Jordan will open a permanent office at the NATO next year.

The prince highlighted Jordan's stances toward challenges and regional and international crises, and efforts to reach comprehensive political solutions to these crises, in order to mitigate their political, economic and security impacts.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Prince Rashid met with the NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, and exchanged views on various current issues with leaders and heads of participating delegations in the celebration.
