King hails IEC efforts in administering parliamentary polls

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday expressed his pride and appreciation in the Independent Election Commission's (IEC) efforts in administering last month's parliamentary elections effectively.

At a meeting with IEC President, Khalid Kalaldeh, and members of the board of commissioners, the King emphasized the importance of building on the experience of the last parliamentary polls to develop a distinct model and benefit from it in managing upcoming elections.

Kalaldeh reviewed mechanisms adopted by the IEC in administering various stages of the voting process until declaring final results, while pointing to support of different competent agencies that enabled the commission complete its tasks as planned.

Kalaldeh told Petra that the meeting with the King also dealt with the IEC's plan to manage the municipal and governorates councils' elections.
