Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Salamah Hammad, Tuesday, discussed with Assistant Minister of Public Security of China, Wang Jian, policing and security ties as well as developments in the Middle East.

At the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of broadening scopes of cooperation between the two countries to tackle terrorism and crime. They also agreed to maintain coordination through exchanging visits, information and training programs in the policing domain.

"Closer Jordan-China cooperation would certainly bring local, regional and global peace and stability, especially in light of the circumstances being witnessed across the globe, which require further coordination", said Hammad.

The minister also referred to a host of comprehensive reforms carried out by the Kingdom, notably last month's parliamentary polls. He stressed Jordan's eagerness to press ahead with different strategies and programs to achieve democracy, peace and security.

The Chinese official said Jordan plays a pivotal role in the region, stressing peace and stability as the foundation of development in its various forms.

Wang also pointed to visits by HM King Abdullah to China that had largely helped to close the two countries' views toward various issues, and bolster cooperation.

He also invited the minister to visit China to learn first-hand about the country's updated methods used to combat crime at the manpower and technical levels.
