Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Anti-Narcotics Department agents, in cooperation with Customs Department and security personnel, Saturday seized 385,000 drug pills and 345 KG of hashish stashed inside a vehicle at the Aqaba Port.

The Public Security Department PSD said narcotics officers had detected a suspicious vehicle loaded with leather materials coming through the port en route to a neighbouring country.

A search of the vehicle had yielded the amount of contraband, which was stashed inside, it said, adding that the driver, who held an Arab nationality, was apprehended and confessed to trying to smuggle the drugs to a neighbouring country. He was referred to the State Security Court's prosecutor general for further investigations.
