Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed during talks with German President Joachem Gauck Saturday on the deep ties between Amman and Berlin and the two countries' keenness to further bolster relations in various fields.
The two leaders also discussed regional an international developments and the importance of maintaining coordination and cooperation on them "in their endeavours to foster peace and security at the regional and international levels".
The German leader congratulated the King for being awarded the Peace Westphalia Prize in recognition of his efforts for peace and international security and stability.
He also noted Jordan's role in addressing current regional issues, particularly its support for the war on terrorism and the humanitarian services and relief aid it offers to Syrian refugees.
King Abdullah said he appreciated Berlin's support of various developmental projects Jordan is carrying out, including the German government's recent approval of an aid package that will alleviate economic challenges facing the Kingdom, and help to combat poverty and unemployment, particularly through joint cooperation and benefiting from the German technical training expertise.
During the meeting, attended by the royal court chief, the foreign minster and a number of senior German officials, Gauck praised the King's leadership in addressing the various regional and global challenges, noting Jordan as a model for security and stability.
