Jordan looks to expand tourism cooperation with Tunisia

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Jordanian delegation representing travel and tourism agents Monday headed for Tunisia to promote tourism cooperation with the north African nation.

The visit came upon invitation of the Tunisian Federation of Travel Agencies and Tourism (FTAV), Tunisian Tourism Promotion Authority and in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the Sales manager at the Royal Jordanian Airlines Osama Kintar said .

The delegation includes representatives of different travel and tourism agencies in the Kingdom as well as a representative of the Royal Jordanian, Qintar added.

During their the five-day visit, which will include field trips to various Tunisia natural attractions, the delegation will hold a meeting with the Tunisian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Salma Lummi, as well as other meetings with representatives of the FTAV and of Tunisian private sector, he further explained.

Qintar highlighted that facilitating visa requirements and exemptions offered for Jordanians that will further boost bilateral ties between the two countries at all levels, mainly the tourist field.

Jordan has a lot to offer holiday makers, Qintar said adding that, visitors to the Kingdom will find lots of tourists attractions including historical and archaeological heritage, including the Roman Theatre, the Dead Sea and the Red rose city of Petra and many other places.

Tunisia is also rich in historical and archaeological heritage, such as Djerba Island that lies over 500 square km, Sidi Bou Said village located 20 km from the capital, the ancient city of Carthage and Carthage National Museum, the Bardo National Museum, as well as many other tourists’ attractions, Qintar concluded.
