Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The total number of voters across the Kingdom who have cast ballots in the parliamentary elections reached 1,492,400, according to the Independent Elections Commission (IEC) spokesman Jihad Momani.
The number of eligible voters is 4,130,142 voters, of whom about one million Jordanian expatriates in 138 countries who were unable to vote, as well as workers in the Jordan Armed Forces and security services who are not entitled to vote according to the law.
Voters registration process for the current election was carried out automatically and not voluntary, as was previously the case, as every citizen registered in the civil registry and reached the legal age for election has been considered a voter and thus the base of eligible voters was increased.
The number of voters in the 2013 elections (the 17th House of Representatives) was 1,288,43 million.
