Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Omani Information Minister Abdul Monem Al-Hassani said that his country has called for dialogue among all Syrian parties since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in order to reach a peaceful and not military solution to the Syrian crisis.
In a wide range interview with Petra that was moderate by its Director General Faisal Al Shboul, the minister said that Oman's stance is based on non-interference in the internal affairs of others, adding that there are no quick or clear solutions on the horizon for the crisis in Syria.
"However, there are some initiatives, and we hope that they will lead to a peaceful solution to the crisis as soon as possible," Al-Hassani added.
On media work in the region, he said it faces major challenges in light of the openness to the international media and the presence of some parties that work to stir sedition and feed extremism.
"The Arab media is requested today to perform its responsibilities in a sincere manner to preserve our existence and ensure that our generations won't be dragged into sedition that would lead to more destruction," the Omani minister explained.
The minister highlighted the importance of Arab media cooperation and collective work to address challenges, pointing to the Arab Media Festival currently being held in Amman and its role in dealing with such challenges.
He commended accomplishments that have been achieved by Petra as well as the level of cooperation between Petra and Oman News Agency.
Petra's director general praised relations between the two countries, and voiced keenness to strengthen cooperation with the Oman News Agency in various domains.
