25-07-2016 05:36 PM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A knife attack outside Japan's capital Tokyo has left at least 15 people dead and dozens more injured, local media reports say.

Police in Sagamihara, in Kanagawa prefecture, have arrested a suspect, local news outlet Kyodo reported.

The assailant broke into a health facility for the disabled. A 26-year-old Japanese man, who is a former employee of the facility, is the suspect, journalist Michael Penn told Al Jazeera.

"It's a very, very serious and very large-scale incident here," he said.

"It's very rare that we come across this kind of violence on this scale of any sort."
