During its five-day visit to the Kingdom, the team made an evaluation of the strategy and met with officials concerned with statistics in the public and private sectors as well as civil society institutions, and presented recommendations on issues that would serve the strategy. Fakhoury said that preparing a National Statistical Strategy for the years 2017-2021 will contribute to achieving national priorities based on ‘Jordan 2025’ development blueprint, the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals as well as the results of the national population and housing census of 2015. Jordan, he said, has the experience that qualifies it to be a statistical center at the regional level, stressing the importance of preparing the new strategy in a participatory manner will all concerned bodies.
