Top experts to attend Jordan defence event

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Leading experts in the field of security will share the latest developments and challenges in the areas of defence and security in the GCC region at the 5th Middle East Homeland Security Summit, to be held in Jordan, in November.

The summit will provide a single platform for all internal security officials, counter-terrorism experts, drug enforcement officials, border-protection officials and law makers to share their experience on the evolving challenges to internal security or homeland security in the GCC region, said the event organiser Fleming.

The event will also benchmark critical issues related to emerging as well as radically changing homeland security obstacles in the Gulf as well as Middle East and North Africa region (Mena) region, it said.

In previous editions, high value security practitioners and defence experts have put forth their best practices related to critical infrastructure protection, cyberwave, narcoterrorism, border management, aviation security, maritime security, etc, it added.

Also the internal and military security experts have shared their in-depth case studies dealing with social media, refugee crisis, emergency preparedness, civil protection, role of geographic information system (GIS) and a host of other vital subjects associated with homeland security, said a statement.

Additionally, other intriguing factors that impressed most participants in the earlier editions of the summit was the participation of ambassadors from UK, French Republic and Canada respectively. They highlighted the efforts taken by their respective governments in war against global terrorism and transitional crime, it said.

The latest edition of the summit, to be held from November 7 to 8, in Amman, will encompass eight sessions that will include several major topics covering internal security challenge, emergency planning and critical infrastructure protection, border management technology, cyber-terrorism and maritime terrorism besides intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and aviation security, it added.
