PM visits civil status, passports department

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, on Monday, visited the Civil Status and Passports Department (CSPD) and stressed the importance of taking further measures to facilitate procedures for citizens at the CSPD.

During a meeting with the CSPD Director General, Marwan Qteishat and senior officials in the presence of a number of ministers, al-Mulki said the CSPD will be among the first institution where procedures adopted by the department will be evaluated to provide better services to citizens.

The prime minister called upon the CSPD to communicate with citizens whose transactions need longer periods of time for completion and text them with the date to save them time and effort.

He stressed the importance of working intensively to complete expatriates transactions and making the process easier for them.

Al Mulki expressed satisfaction with the CSPD procedures in terms of documenting and archiving the history of Jordan, its families, tribes and historic documents.

CSPD Director General briefed the prime minister about the department's accomplishments in the past two years and what it achieved in cooperation with banks and public and private institutions in terms of database linkage.

The premier toured the CSPD and inspected the files section, which includes millions of documents.
