Queen Rania celebrates Independence Day with students of Safout Secondary School for Girls

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Jordan’s Independence Day and the 100th anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah Tuesday visited the Safout Secondary School for Girls to celebrate the nation’s milestones with faculty and students.

School Principal, Maha Asfour, joined Her Majesty while watching a performance by the Girl Scouts, and listening to students sing national songs. Queen Rania also toured an exhibition displaying mosaic, pottery, and woven handcrafts made by students participating in the ‘Madrasati’ program, which is implemented by the ‘Madrasati’ initiative.

The program aims to equip young students with life skills and values that help them evolve into active citizens, who are effective members of their communities.

The Safout Secondary School for Girls has 230 students, and is run by the Ministry of Education. It is one of 98 schools in Madaba, Al Balqa, Jerash and Ajloun that have benefited the ‘Madrasati’ Initiative’s second phase.

The school’s teachers have also benefited from the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) training courses and have participated in the Queen Rania Award for Excellence in Education (QARAE).
