Aqaba gas terminal to save JOD600mln by yearend

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the Red Sea port of Aqaba (330KM south) is expected to save a staggering JOD600 million by the end of the current year, according to Director-General of the National Electricity Company, Abdul Fattah Daradkah.

The Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Terminal was inaugurated in July last year and serves as a strategic storage facility supplying LNG to electric power generation stations across the Kingdom.

Daradkah also said an additional 500 megawatts of electric power from clean sources (solar and wind) will be added to the national grid by the end of the current year.
