King meets US Army official, attends military drill

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army, on Wednesday, met with Commander of United States Central Command, General Joseph Votel.

The meeting, which was attended by His Majesty's Adviser for Military Affairs, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mashal Al Zabin, and His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, focused on the latest regional and international developments.

King Abdullah, accompanied by Gen. Votel, the army chief and Prince Faisal, attended a military drill that was carried out by the 30th Hussein Bin Ali Special Mission Brigade.

The drill included combat activities with the support of helicopters and air landings for paratroopers, in addition to live shooting with the use of various weapons. Participants displayed a high level of precision, combat readiness and fitness.

Hi Majesty also visited the Rapid Response Force (Desert Eagle), to check on technical, operational and training issues.
