Ammon News - Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atif Tarawneh, Wednesday, said that failure to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue will push Arab and Muslim youths further towards extremism and terrorism.
Welcoming a Russian Senate delegation, Tarawneh said it is unrealistic and incorrect to associate Islam with terrorism, because terrorism exists everywhere and has no religion, race or nationality.
He said the international community has to close borders for terrorists, stop providing them with weapons or equipment and prevent facilitating the purchase of oil from them.
The speaker also reviewed the comprehensive reforms that have been implemented by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II which made Jordan and an oasis for security and stability in a turbulent region.
Tarawneh also spoke about burdens the Kingdom shoulders as a result of hosting a large number of refugees, who placed enormous pressure on various sectors.
He called for investing the strong relations between the two friendly countries, and further boost them in trade, economic, parliamentary and tourism, fields especially that Jordan is a safe and well-developed country and has many tourist and religious sites.
The delegation voiced hope to increase the number of Russian tourists visiting the Kingdom that enjoys security and stability despite the situation in the region.
