Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), on Monday handed over the banner of "His Majesty the Supreme Commander" to three battalions of the King Hussein Bin Talal 40th Armored Brigade.
The banner was presented to Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah II First Mechanized Battalion, the Second Armored Battalion, and Prince Ali bin Al Hussein 4th Tank Battalion during an official military ceremony that was attended by a number of royal family members and top civil and military officials.
The Al Hussein Bin Talal 40th Armored Brigade, which was established in 1946, took part in several battles fought by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.
The flag handover military ceremony was held in appreciation of the heroic efforts of the members of the army units and the sacrifices offered by them and their role in defending the country.
Upon arrival at the celebration site, the King received an official welcome that included a 21-gun salute by the artillery.
His Majesty was also greeted by the prime minister and defense minister, the King's advisor for military affairs and the chairman of the join chiefs of staff and the commander of the Al Hussein Bin Talal 40th Armored Brigade.
Addressing attendees, the commander of the brigade highlighting the armed forces’ bravery and continued sacrifices to preserve the homeland.
