Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan will carry out their internal elections on 7 April to choose a new Shura Council and new General Observer for the group, Quds Press reported yesterday.
A number of issues await the group’s new leader, who will hold the post for four years. These include the group’s relationship with the Jordanian authorities and the internal crisis within the movement.
Quds Press reported the group’s spokesman Muath Al-Khawalda saying that the group’s Executive Bureau asked the 39 affiliates in Jordan to carry out internal elections between 7 and 9 April to choose their representatives in the Shura Council.
Al-Khawalda said that the elected Shura Council is slated to meet in the middle of April to choose the General Observer and members of the High Court and Central Court.
He also said that the General Observer has the power to choose the members of the Executive Bureau, which consists of nine members, including him.
The Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan’s Shura Council includes 53 members, including the former General Observer.
