Ammon News - AMMONNEWS -Diaa Al-deen Talafha - The vice American ambassador in Jordan, Henry woster confirmed , the expansion which is happening in the corridors of the American embassy in Amman reflects the strategy relationships degree between Jordan and the United States of America, pointing that the size of the building of the embassy doesn't reflect the degree of relationship between the two countries.

Henry said ,during the meeting with many journalists to talk about the expansion which was started on February, 2015, that the biggest welfare of the expansion will be to the united states agency for international development USAID in Jordan and to the counseling section. The USAID is considered as the second biggest program in the world, it is allocated more than 629 millions us $ from the aids to Jordan, just in 2015.

The local market will get benefit of the expansion , all the needed materials of the project will be bought from the Jordanian markets in case of availability as he confirmed. He pointed that 160 workers are working in the project , 140 of them are Jordanians. The number of the workers will be increased up to 300 in the next levels.

The expenditure in the Jordanian markets is about 50 millions us $ through buying the materials from the local market.

The construction director in the embassy, Azeez Younes said that the area of the United States embassy will be 16 thousands m by the end of 2018. A new building inside the embassy is being built with the area of 2500 m.

Azeez confirmed that the embassy seeks from the expansion to mix between the form of the American building and the Jordanian , where the American and Jordanian visitors feel strange of new building shape which consists of 4 floors.

He added that the embassy is overcrowded with employees especially in the consulate and the USAID, the overflowing of the employees will be transferred to the new building.

Azeez pointed that a temporarily cafeteria was opening and a swimming pool until the new building is being finished, which will be connected with opposite side building with a bridge. The expansion inside the embassy will cost 153 millions us $.

He mentioned that the embassy before the expansion has started , a consult and a deal with many Jordanian institutions were done , the most prominent one is Greater Amman Municipality and The Ministry of Labour and Public Works as they were informed by the figure of the embassy.

After Ammon question about the security cooperation after the expansion inside the embassy, the spokesman said that the cooperation is continued and constant between the two sides.
