Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan's Permanent Representative at the United Nations Dina Kawar said that Jordan is proud of its participation in peace keeping missions around the world , adding that this stems from its humanitarian and moral commitment to the UN's comprehensive strategy to prevent and respond to conflicts.

At a UN Security Council session on peace keeping missions yesterday, Kawar added that Jordan ranks first in terms of police contribution to peace keeping missions.

Jordan, she added, highly values efforts of peace keepers who have served and are still serving in peace keeping operations as well as their daily sacrifices to bring about world peace and security.

"Jordan is also proud of the efforts of the UN secretary general and the Independent Panel on Peace Operations, and supports recommendations of their reports on the future of peace operations," Kawar said.
