Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Yemeni security officials have said that Saudi, Emirati, Egyptian and Jordanian military advisers are training hundreds of fighters at a military base near the port of Aden.

Pro-government forces retook Aden last month and Tuesday seized the key airbase of Al-Anad to its north.

"Some of the troops will be involved in the protection of public facilities, and part of them will involve in fighting the Houthi rebels", Albakly said.

The Houthis and members of the party of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh party will meet with United Nations envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in Oman, officials from the exiled Riyadh-based Yemeni presidential office said. Gen. Mohammed Shadadi, was seriously wounded and four of his bodyguards were killed in an ambush nearby and was evacuated to Aden, the officials also said, adding that he will likely be taken to Saudi Arabia for treatment.

A political crisis in Yemen descended into civil war in late March when Houthi forces advanced south toward the main southern port of Aden in late March and caused President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi to flee to Saudi Arabia.

Pro-government fighters have had a series of victories in recent weeks after capturing Aden last month.

As the battle on the ground continues, the chief of the worldwide Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) arrived to Sanaa on Saturday on a three-day visit to assess the "dire humanitarian situation" in the country.

The official further noted that the delivery of food, water and emergency medical aid to the affected areas "must be facilitated" rather than hampered in the war-ravaged country.

The southern province of Daleh is also controlled by Popular Resistance fighters loyal to exiled president Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi.

French foreign minister Laurent Fabius said no ransom was paid for Ms Prime's release.

Another soldier died from shelling along the border on Wednesday, and a civilian was killed in Najran three days earlier.

However, another and perhaps less immediately apparent conflict, has been taking place in tandem with the different military campaigns.
