Crown Prince delivers accreditation to sports therapists

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II, on Saturday, handed accreditation cards to a group of sports therapists, who passed a basic sports therapy examination set by the Jordan Sports Medicine Federation.

The examination is designed to qualify therapists to practice sports therapy in various fields within the "Qusai Initiative".

During a meeting with the graduates, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince said that graduates will upgrade and improve the level of education in the field of sports therapy and develop its tools, in order to reduce players' injuries, according to international standards to achieve a "safe sports environment." Prince Al Hussein congratulated the graduates, for passing the examination, stressing the importance of continuing coordination between all parties concerned to expand the umbrella of the accreditation card to include various sports.

The "Qusai Initiative", which was launched by the Crown Prince in 2014, focuses on preventive measures and enhancing awareness among the sports therapists and athletes alike, and limiting injuries due to any incidents on the field involving athletes.

"Qusai Initiative" adviser, Khaled Zeidan told Petra that a series of training courses in sports therapy skills have been organized as part of the initiative, noting that the accreditation allows holders to practice sports therapy in various activities.

He added that 12 therapists have passed basic requirements within an ongoing program, which will last until the beginning of 2017 and targets existing therapists in the field, gives them advanced courses and holds consecutive exams to qualify a new batch of therapists.
