Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Syrian refugees in Jordan will have free of charge medical care in the Jordan Red Crescent Hospital for a year, according to an agreement signed here on Sunday, KUNA published.

Deputy Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Anwar AlHasawi and his counterpart at Jordan's National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) Eng. Omar AbuGoura inked the deal worth USD 500 million.

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad AlDuaij attended the signing ceremony.

The agreement is part of Kuwait's humanitarian initiatives to provide medical treatment to Syrian refugees, AlDuaij told KUNA.

For his part, AlHasawi said that the deal followed a detailed study that assessed the capabilities of the JNRCS to support Syrians in the Kingdom. He added that the JNRCS has been active in responding to the humanitarian needs of the refugees since the eruption of the Syrian crisis more than four year ago.

AbuGoura appreciated the KRCS for its support to the needy worldwide, regardless of faith, colour or ethnicity.
