FM takes part in Oslo peace forum

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign, Nasser Judeh, on Tuesday, took part in a global forum on peace held in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.

The gathering brings together more than 100 high-level participants for talks on peace and resolving conflicts in various parts of the world.

In a speech, Judeh renewed Jordan's call for coordinating international efforts to counter terrorism and extremism which threatens the whole world. He said Jordan will continue to spearhead anti-terror efforts.

The minister called for intensifying efforts to resume peace talks between the Palestinian and Israelis and bring about an independent and viable Palestinian state on national Palestinian soil.

He also spoke about burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting a massive influx of Syrian refugees of more than 1.5 million.

In his speech, Judeh tackled the crises in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya and called for finding peaceful solutions to the conflicts in these countries.
