Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour reiterated on Thursday that the security and stability of the Kingdom is closely linked to the security and stability of the Gulf Arab states.
Ensour made these remarks as he received visiting Bahraini parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Ahmad
bin Ibrahim AlMullah. Ensour noted also on the strong ties between Jordan and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Further, he noted the special and brotherly ties between Jordan King Abdullah II and the Bahraini King Hamad
bin Isa AlKhalifa.
Addressing the latest developments in the region, the premier affirmed that Jordan is closely monitoring its
borders to prevent the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and human trafficking.
The Jordanian premier talked about the economic challenges facing the Kingdom as a result of the regional
turmoil and hosting about 1.4 million Syrian refugees, 2.25 million Palestinian refugees and hundreds of
thousands of Iraqis, Yemeni and Libyan citizens, as well as more than 650,000 Egyptian expatriates.
Ensour also affirmed that Jordan, which is surrounded by turmoil, managed to maintain its security and stability and remained a safe haven thanks to the Jordanian people's awareness and Hashemite leadership's wisdom.
Jordan, he added, has witnessed thousands of demonstrations and sitins that were all demanding faster
reforms, affirming that the Jordanian people and leadership are both pushing for reforms.
In turn, Bahraini MPs noted the depth of ties between Jordan and Bahrain, affirming that the security and
stability of the two Kingdoms are closely connected.
Further, they praised the role played by Jordan to defend the Palestinian cause.
