Deputy prime minister meets with Iranian president

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Saturday, met with Iranian President Hassan Rohani in Tehran and discussed with him bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region.
Judeh conveyed a letter from His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein to President Rohani. During the meeting, Rohani said his country is keen on developing Jordanian-Iranian relations in various fields. He hailed Jordan's important and pivotal role regarding various regional and international issues.
The two sides stressed the need to support political peaceful solutions to crises some countries in the region have been experiencing.
The deputy prime minister also held extensive talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on issues of common interest and relations between Jordan and Iran.
Judeh highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to fight extremist ideology and terrorism and any attempts to sow discord among Muslims. He referred to His Majesty the King's rejections of all acts that distort the bright image of Islam.
Judeh said the Palestinian issues remains the crux of the conflict in the region and resolving it is a high Jordanian interest. The Iranian foreign minister underlined Jordan's key and important role in the region and stressed the importance of such meetings in light of regional developments and challenges.
