Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour met on Monday with representatives of companies taking part in the China Products Fair, which opened in Amman yesterday.

At the meeting, attended by Minister of Industry and Trade and Supply Hatim Halawani and China's Ambassador to Jordan Gao Yusheng, Ensour welcomed the fact that the fair was being held in Jordan for the eleventh time.

Jordan, he said, is a secure and stable country and has a high level of literacy, stressing the need to increase cooperation between the private sector and businessmen of both the countries.

The first phase of the fair, which runs until Wednesday, is exhibiting industrial machines, products and equipment related to renewable energy and food production, while during the second phase, slated for 15-18 September, a host of other items, mainly household appliances and auto parts, will be on display.

More than 1,000 companies and exhibitors are taking part in the fair being held with the support of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Trade Development Council, the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the Jordan Investment Board, the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Palestine Chamber of Commerce.
