King discusses with US delegation ties, region

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II said that Jordan, to the best of its capabilities, continues to provide relief and medical aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, beef up support for the Jordanian military field hospital in Gaza and contribute to the reconstruction efforts in the coastal enclave.
At a meeting with a delegation of US Congressional aides at the Al Husseiniya Palace on Wednesday, the King said that after putting a complete end to the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, international efforts should be intensified to ensure resumption of peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis that address all final status issues in accordance with the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions.
His Majesty also spoke about the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on neighboring countries as well as the situation in Iraq, reiterating Jordan's stance which calls for a comprehensive political solution to the crisis in Syria and support efforts that aim at enhancing the unity of Iraq and its people.
Talks during the meeting, which was attended by the Royal Court chief and the director of the King's Office, also dealt with Jordanian-US ties as well as ways to further boost these in various fields.
His Majesty voiced appreciation for the US’ support to the Kingdom in various domains.
Members of the delegation praised Jordan's efforts led by His Majesty to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East as well as the King's efforts in dealing with various challenges.
