APC Launches Caliber Training Program

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - In presence of the Minister of Labor and Tourism Dr. Nidal Al Qatamine, the Arab Potash Company (APC) celebrated the launch of the Caliber Training Program for new graduates in technical disciplines, which aims to provide an opportunity for people from local communities to gain a multi-faceted experience that helps raise their employability in many sectors and corporations in the future, including APC.

The program aims at its inception to train 50 diploma holders for two years in a variety of technical skills in areas that APC needs constantly and repeatedly, such as operations and maintenance.

APC Chairman of the Board of Directors Jamal Al Sarayrah affirmed that the idea of the Caliber Training Program stems from APC's belief in the importance of partnership with local communities to raise their living standards and increase the opportunities available to them. He said that APC is keen through this program to match its vision and goals with those of the Ministry of Labor to achieve the national goals of creating skilled manpower, in embodiment of the effective partnership between the public and private sectors.

The Minister of Labor praised APC's initiative which he described as a milestone in the National Employment Project. He also also praised the establishment of a labor relations unit and expressed his hope that Jordanian corporations may follow the example of these initiatives.
It should be noted that this program will provide significant benefits to trainees, to whom APC will give monthly financial remunerations between starting at JD 300, in addition to providing them with transportation and social security coverage.
