Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Israeli military said it has carried out airstrikes on 10 militant sites in the Gaza Strip, including rocket launchers and a weapons manufacturing site, according to the Associated Press.
The airstrikes early Sunday come in reaction to the rockets and mortars fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel during the weekend.
Two of those rockets were aimed at Beersheba, a southern city in Israel. The military said its “Iron Dome” defense system intercepted the two rockets.
Also on Sunday, a Palestinian was arrested by the army in the West Bank city of Hebron. His family identified him as Hossam Dufesh.
The army would not elaborate on the arrest. Israeli forces have concentrated its search for the killers of three Israeli teens on the Hebron area last week.
The bodies of Gil-Ad Shaer and U.S.-Israeli national Naftali Fraenkel, both 16, and Eyal Yifrah, 19, were found in a field near Hebron, a militant stronghold and the hometown of two Hamas members identified by Israel as the kidnappers and still at large.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu blamed Hamas and vowed that they would answer for it.
Mohammad Abu Khdeir
Menwhile, the body of 16-year-old Mohammad Abu Khdeir was found in a forest earlier this week after he was seized near his home in east Jerusalem.
Palestinians have accused Israeli extremists for the killing in a revenge attack for three Israeli teens.
Police said an investigation is ongoing to determine who killed the teen and why.
